Outdoor spaces play a fundamental role in cooperative housing: they are places for meeting, sharing and building community. They are also spaces where everyday life extends beyond the home, encouraging relationships between neighbours, well-being and a closer connection with nature. These spaces become catalysts for social interaction, mutual support and collective identity.
The landscape proposal for the “Outeiro – Lugar Comum” Cooperative Housing project is designed to strengthen community life, the relationship with nature and the integration of the development within its surroundings. Our approach is based on the idea that outdoor spaces are essential to both social interaction and well-being.
We therefore developed a spatial structure that supports shared living, collective use and everyday activities through simple, resilient and environmentally responsible solutions. Native plant species, efficient water management and green infrastructure help reduce impermeable surfaces, creating a coherent, healthy and sustainable living environment.
